Menat

Menat is a protective amulet, usually at the back of the neck as a counterpoise to the necklace worn in the front. Frequently made of glazed ware an quite often buried with the dead, it was a symbol of divine protection. Among women it fostered fruitfulness and health, while among men it signified virility. The menat represents the power of reproduction and was associated with the Goddess Hathor.
