Silver Chancay lime spatula

Scoop-ended lime scraper topped with a long-beaked hummingbird. Originally used in coca chewing rituals. Spatulas like this were used to scoop lime from small containers. The lime was mixed with coca leaves and chewed to provide energy and alleviate hunger and symptoms of altitude sickness.
